CLASS OF 1949 CELEBRATE THEIR 'BIG 60th REUNION!
My next mailing in early April will be listing all planned events and activities, and will include a list of Motels for those of us needing same. I will attempt to arrange
A group rate at a couple of the motels. I would appreciate hearing from you
Via mail, phone or e-mail with regard to your intentions of attending our awesome
60th reunion in order that we can arrange adequate seating for our special Friday night banquet. Also, if you have any suggestions with regard to an event or activity, please do not hesitate to advise.
The Eden Alumni Association will be mailing out all pertinent information having
To do with the 27th Eden Alumni Weekend for your perusal in April. The class of
’59 is even sponsoring a golf outing for interested alumni! Our Kazoo factory in
Eden made our local paper this morning and perhaps it would be interesting to
Tour their plant, it being the only one in the world making metal kazoos!
If you would like an up-dated ‘class listing’ which will bring
You up to date on where your classmates reside and pertinent data in case you
May want to make contact with them, contact me and I will send one out to you. Who knows, some of you may be close
Neighbors !! You will be surprised to find out how many of them have remained in
The Western New York area.
Our class will be celebrating a Friday evening banquet in Hamburg, NY as they renew class
acquaintances. Saturday's events are also in the planning stage, and we shall
all be looking forward to Saturday evening's Eden Alumni Association's grand
27th Alumni Weekend with a dinner at Duffy Hall behind the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Main Street in Eden, together with our return to 'Good old ECS'. Sunday we will join the Eden Alumni Assoc. for a brunch at the Four Corners Restaurant in Eden.
I also would appreciate an up-date on your life's activities since our last 50th reunion.
I am sure that a lot has happened with all of us since, so don't be bashful, nor procrastinate in doing a follow-up.

It was a joy to see many of our out of town
classmates who were able to make our 55th.
We had a great showing with about 22 on
Sunday to make our going away party. The
locals get together once a month at local
restaurants. We had a great turnout (18), for our
October dinner we went to the Lutheran Church
Harvest Dinner. We are having our Christmas
Dinner 12/16/07, 3pm at Bennett’s. It always
seems like old times when we get together and
the spouses always feel and will be part of our
class. We only had fifty when we graduated and have lost a few since
1952, but they will always remain with us. If there is anyone who would
like to join us for dinner we would love to have them, if they just contact
one of us we can give them dates and places. Our best wishes to
everyone for a safe, happy and blessed holiday from the Class of ‘52.

Hey Gang! It’s been 5 years since some of us
have been at a gathering together - meaning
the class of 1953! We had such a wonderful
turn-out for our 50th and such a great time. Don’t you agree?
Wouldn’t it be just grand if we had another great get-together for our
55th year? Our local group still meets for dinner on the last
Wednesday of every month! Because of other commitments or other
reasons the numbers vary from 6 or 8 to close to 20. We take turns
picking the spot, which leads to great variety! And if you get your
name on the regular list, you will get a reminder call from our
faithful telephone person, Lois (Mehs) Bardo! Details for the next
annual Alumni Reunion, in July 2008 will be elsewhere in this
Alumnews release. If you are interested in this happening and/or a
Friday evening casual affair please email or notify me at 3294
E. Church St., Eden, NY 14057. Let’s get the wheels rolling! We have
less than a year to plan. Would soooo love to see every one of you!
On behalf of all 53ers -
Your Class Agent, Marlene (Winter) Bowman

The
class of 1959 reunion committee wishes to thank all our classmates and their spouses who made our 50 year reunion such a tremendous success!
After all the parties were over and everyone had gone home, we had some money left over after paying the bills. We had already determined to donate any money remaining to the Eden Alumni Association's Scholarship Fund. We thought, why not see if we can raise enough more from our classmates to fully fund a $1,500.00 Scholarship. After notifying our classmates of the plan, the money started rolling in. We have been able to donate $1,709.96 to the Alumni scholarship fund which will create the fifth scholarship in the spring of 2010.
We are obviously proud of ourselves and sincerely hope the other classes will follow our lead and also donate a scholarship to the Alumni Scholarship Fund. $1,500.00 is a small amount for a class to raise but a large help to a student.
Here
is an outline of the events we attended:
July
16th – Thursday evening we had a party at Clarksburg Country Club where we had roast beef
on weck, Sahlens hot dogs and Eden corn. (and liquid refreshments) Herb Beck had prepared a special video presentation which we all enjoyed.
July 17th - Friday at noon we enjoyed a picnic
at The American Legion picnic area in Eden.
July 17th – Friday evening we attended the party which the Eden Alumni
Assoc. holds at the American Legion Barn in Eden. There are usually 250 to 300 Eden alumni of all class years at this event and we were a large part of that crowd.
July 18th – Saturday evening The Eden Alumni
Assoc. held a dinner dance and honored the 50 year anniversary class
– that’s us
July 19th – Sunday brunch was held at
Jean Pfarner Felser's new home.
Please contact Dave
Allen at (716-992-4529) if you would like help in planning your reunion or if you have any questions

Class of 1960 50th Reunion Week-end
July 29th, 30th, 31st, Aug 1st, 2010
Did we just have the best week-end ever!!!
We started out on Thursday night at Clarksburg Country Club meeting old classmates some of us haven’t seen in fifty years. Everyone seemed happy to be there and we laughed and talked into the night. George Graovac and his crew did a great job with the food and drinks.
The next morning we met with Mr. Fregelette and toured the old high school – we were all impressed at how well the old building has held up over the years. We shot some baskets in the gym; noticed that the bleachers are gone; checked out the auditorium, library, and the boys locker room. Yes, the girls finally got into the boys locker room – Darlene said it wasn’t her first visit. So many memories and stories – where did the last 50 years go?
Then on to Henry Wilson’s beautiful home and a hike along his ski trails – even up a steep ladder – Jim Bradley, of course did it with “no hands”. Michele Wilson presented us with a delicious lunch – we laughed and talked some more until it was time to go. The Alumni Barbeque at the American Legion was next on the agenda.
Saturday morning, we all met at Braymillers – laughed and talked some more and then it was on to Paul Zittel’s. Paul gave us an extraordinary tour via hayride – remember hayrides? We toured the Zittel and Agle farms and the Eden Valley Growers operation. Everyone was amazed at the inner workings of the farms. We especially liked Paul’s storytelling. Sue Cheney led a rather poor rendition of “She’ll Be Coming Around the Mountain When She Comes.”on our hayride back. Many of us were wearing our reunion tee shirts. Linda Hardy Zittel prepared a wonderful lunch – delicious Eden corn and tomatoes along with chicken and salad. The weather was perfect the whole week-end.
We didn’t have much time to rest because it was on to the Saturday night Alumni Dinner where we really showed up the class of 1959 by out-donating them by almost twice the amount. The wonderful and generous Class of 1960 were able to donate $3,196.00 (there is a message in those numbers) which will provide a little more than 2 scholarships to the graduating class of 2011. We topped off Saturday night at the Garden of Eden (now known as O’Brien’s Pub) with so much fun and laughter. Pat Lutes had us in stitches, doing some magic tricks and storytelling.
The Finale was a breakfast on Sunday morning at the old Demerley’s restaurant (it’s now called the Four Corners)
We hugged and kissed and said our sad good-byes and hopefully will keep in touch. Our committee deservedly patted ourselves on the back as we all did such a good job in creating this wonderful week-end!
We have been sending out a weekly newsletter since Alumni Weekend 2005. If any members of our class are not receiving it, email Eric Benzin or call 716-361-9899

The Class of 1962 will definitely aim at getting together for our 50th
in 2012!!! So spread the word and plan to be here. Anyone interested
in helping, please let me know. So far Joan (Bowers) Hughes is
willing, and for now, we will work on updating contact information.
For our 45th, Jim and I really enjoyed seeing a few classmates at the
Friday night pig and Eden corn roast, but sad we didn’t have enough!
For a table Saturday night at Duffy Hall. What happened? Fifty years
is something to celebrate, “so let’s get together...ya, ya, ya.”
